Sinusitis is one of the most common chronic health problems in the United States, affecting 37 million people each year. Sinusitis can significantly impact one’s physical, functional and emotional quality of life. Those with chronic sinusitis have twice as many visits to primary care doctors and five times as many prescriptions as patients who do not have the condition.
Traditional treatment for sinusitis patients ,until recently, were limited to two treatment options: medical therapy such as antibiotics and topical nasal
steroids, or a surgical procedure known as functional endoscopic sinus surgery (FESS), an aggressive surgery that involves bone and tissue removal to open up blocked sinus passageways.
Get Relief with new Minimally Invasive Surgery Balloon Sinuplasty™ endoscopic sinus surgery is an alternative treatment available with Dr Zaher Srour,of Advanced ENT & Allergy, uses this technology to offer relief to chronic sinusitis sufferers of all ages. Endoscopic sinus surgery with Balloon Sinuplasty involves a small, flexible balloon catheter which is placed through the nostril into the blocked sinus passageway. When the balloon is inflated, it gently restructures and opens the sinus, restoring normal drainage and function. Press to see VIDEO
